The Victim/Witness Assistance Program strives to reduce the trauma of a crime by empowering and assisting crime victims, witnesses and significant others in reconstructing their lives through advocacy, support, information and referrals.
In Pennsylvania, as a victim of a crime, you are afforded certain rights under the law. Victim/Witness Assistance Program is here to ensure that those rights are protected and enforced throughout your time in the criminal justice system.
We believe in your right to privacy. You are important to us and we respect your privacy. You can be assured that your name and information will be held in the strictest confidence. Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) strives to address problems that arise due to involuntary involvement in the justice system. The staff of VWAP shall not practice, condone, facilitate, or collaborate with any form of discrimination based on age, marital status, gender or gender identity, political belief, religion, mental disability, or physical disability or sexual orientation. VWAP is an independent non-profit agency that provides support and assistance to victims of crime in Dauphin County. We provide these services at no cost to victims.
"Story Behind the Mask" Fundraiser
John Paul Scott Community Church is hosting a Fundraiser Masquerade Gala themed, “Story Behind the MASK." This event will provide an opportunity for our community to demonstrate its commitment to putting a STOP to domestic violence and to support the numerous victims who are among us. It is also a time to educate the public on the seriousness of domestic violence and the prevalence of this epidemic in our communities. All proceeds and donations will support this special event and the Dauphin County Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) in memory of Tarina M. Fields-Price.
